'Age of Adz' is the ninth studio album from American multi-instrumentalist Sufjan Stevens and his first song-based release since his hugely successful 2005 record, 'Illinois'. Unlike many of Stevens' other albums, this release does not have an outright concept, but does concentrate on familiar themes of love and loss. Focusing on a broad, electronic sound, here Stevens' swaps acoustic guitar and banjo for drum machines and synthesizers. A familiar use of orchestration that expands the spacey sound.
