Choba B CCCP, the Russian translation of “Back In The USSR”, was released in the Soviet Union in 1988, making Paul the
first Western artist to release an exclusive album for the Russian market. The album was released to the rest of the world
after the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.
Paul decided that he wanted to go back to his roots, so he hired three session musicians and spent only two days in the
studio with them to cover his favorite fifties hits. The recording sessions included a total of 22 songs, 13 of which ended on
the album. For Paul, it was a very personal album and a way to thank fans who had supported him and The Beatles from the start
